25.01.18 Development Notes


Currently, I am working on the AI for the next area.

On the surface, players will encounter more powerful Sand Spirits, villagers, and Grim Reapers. (Some underground content will be reused.)

A total of three bosses are planned.

Villagers are expected to roam the area, but their models are not yet created. (This ultimately comes down to budget constraints.)





Sand Elemental become even stronger on the surface, utilizing new abilities. Approaching them recklessly could result in instant death.



New Enemy Types:


Basic Grim Reaper: Attacks with a scythe and occasionally creates and launches ghostly flames.


Enhanced Grim Reaper: Carries a lantern in one hand and has a similar attack pattern to the basic version. However, staying too close will lead to dangerous situations.

Additionally, Grim Reapers become more troublesome when villagers are nearby.

I am currently focusing on resolving VT-related issues, which has temporarily halted additional content creation.

(To be honest, I’m unsure how well this will go since content programming is my main strength.)

Some might think, “Why not just switch to DX11?” However, this isn’t feasible due to the extensive use of DX12 features and SM6.

For those who may have tried the temporary DX11 support, you would have noticed severe performance issues. Simply entering the Twisted Forest causes stuttering to the point where gameplay becomes impossible.

(This is because features like Nanite and Virtual Shadow Maps only function with SM6.)
